Hopefully I will become a senior citizen latter rather than sooner. And if that happens, I would rather have a gift card and a picture of the inexpensive tool so that I could add some cash to it and buy the tool that I would like to own. But that's just me, after a certain age, we sometimes feel we deserve some of the good stuff after a lifetime of counting pennies.

From what you are describing this will fit the bill perfectly and never needs recharging or an extension cord
European Buck Saws - Lee Valley Tools

Remember, cheap power tools are an endless source of frustration and never last. If you are doing a lot of live wood cutting you would probably want a good quality electric chainsaw NOT a reciprocating saw. Keep safe

I went for the Makita 18 volt LXT as well because I have other Makita products. The blades are pretty universal as they fit Milwaukee as well..
Some blades I shorten by cutting them off with my Makita angle grinder with a thin cutting blade.
My stepson had a large Milwaukee sawzall but it was just too heavy so he bought a Makita like mine.
