Any insite into the lawn and garden line up? Specifically the 700 series and a 27 hp engine? Are the rumors true?

the current X400s and X500s will become the X700s. They will use different numbers to differentiate 2wd, 4wd, and 4 wheel steer. Not much change, new dash, and HP,, but mostly the same tractor as we have today.

check with your dealer. Many have been already and will show you info.

I did look at GT/GX replacement, but only briefly. Unfortunately it appears not to be a return to old 318 supremacy. The frames are ~3.x mm vs the 4.xmm of old 318s, current X series, and new X700s. So won't be moving the boat with it.

On plus side, I think it still had diff lock, and now offers HDAP tires. No 4wd though, so still needs chains. I think a little more HP, biggest deck was around 54", and new seat with built in grab handles.

Again, I personaly think dealers are one of Deere's advantages over competition, especialy on consumer equipment end, so pay them a visit. Then perhaps you can give a better update than this! In meantime, sorry for not more detail.

Sorry, this is minor grip based on some of new info.

for X700 diesel, I had hoped they would have did industry leading direct injection like they did with gas fuel injection. The light duty onroad stuff like duramax, and others, give diesel torque and durability, but close to gasoline quiet and low smoke. Yes, new TNV meets new emmissions standards, and has noise improvements, but seems like only incremental improvements. Too expensive I guess for engine controller that new diesels run with. Oh well, maybe next generation.

On personal note, wanted diesel, and the TNV yanmar seems nicer than old TNE, but not enough for wife acceptance factor. (got green light for new tractor because 316/318s Onans are too noisy, smelly...) Looks like I might get gas x series and continue to buy mobile 1 by the case. (1000 hour Onan running moble 1 measures basically new tolerances last time I miked its insides. Assume new Kawasaki FD750D running mobile 1 will have similar durability.)

Alright, I talked to the local dealer today. LT/LX Lawn tractor lines have been combined into the X300 series. GT/GX lines have been combined into the X500 series. Current X400 and X500 series has been combined into the X700 series, and carry over with only a few changes. All three lines have a 4 wheel steer model or models. Attachments seem to be different, with a 47" two stage blower for the X500, in addition to a 44" single stage. Mower decks have changed slightly. Frames and everything have changed from the ground up on X300 and X500 series. As a result, most if not all new attachments are only compatible the new machines. Engine horsepower is up across the line, topping out at 27 Hp on a few of the X700 gas models. More information should be available in Jan/Feb, with the new machines hitting lots by Deere season in the spring.

As far as moving the boat with the new X500's, I would be afraid one bit. My father in law has a GT235, and we move more than boats with that thing. You would be supprised how much those little devils can handle, without even a slip of the belt drive.

Thanks for info. not worried about engine power, my 18hp Onan pulls 3500lb boat/trailer just fine. Its frame I was talking about. There's a 2inch lip I manuver over, and boat tugs tractor around, creating stress on frame.

Local dealer, and out of town dealers, start by pointing me to small CUT like 2305, especialy since I want to run a PTO generator as well. (2305 a lot for money) However, when I tell them wife wants new tractor because of noise/smell, they all point me to gas powered Xseries.

How all this ties in to subject of thread: was hoping new X500 series was going to have beefy frame, and rear pto option, kind of like old 318.
