Info on 4500-5500-6000 series

Maybe you all know this but I have just found out; I just purchased a 4500 4wd but before I spoke with an engineer at Mahindra (dealer didn't know the answer) who said that the rims (purchased in the US), drive train, electrical are all SAE; only the engine is metric. Also noticed that Mahindra had recently changed the wheel sizes and the resulting circumference ratios (front-rear) changed slightly so I asked what was the acceptable range; was told "anything under 1.0". Finally, the dealer I purchased from had known of only one 4wd failure; that of a construction contractor who ran it in 4wd continuously on paved roads.

Smashed my right hand on the ignition key shifting the gearbox during a trial run in the dealer's lot. I wonder why they haven't moved the ignition key somewhere else or modified the shift lever slightly.

Actually, I think they did modify the shifter lever. On mine it is short and you have to lean over if you don't have long arms. Good part was that it did not put you in harms way of the key. They then modified the shifter lever because people were complaining about it being too short. Looks like another bend may be needed.
