That is so true about the 4 days work over a month. Well the electrical inspector signed off yesterday so we are good to go. So they will back fill it, then close it up for the winter and cover it. I am ordering one of those tension covers but that has to wait for the cement next spring. I am going to T post and wire off the pool so the dogs stay off the cover. I already rescued one dog years ago going down with a pool cover. These ones are very expensive not to mention I love them very much.

The B7800 is doing other projects, I contracted out the pool construction because I have never done one and I don't really have the time. I have more fencing to do in the pasture. I will be doing the coi pond and the deck off the house not to mention the pool house for the all important beer fridge. I hate it when the wife counts how many trips I make to the fridge

Nat,
I do not mean any offense, but in looking at your volume to gallons formula, it appears that you used 5.9 as your conversion factor to convert cubic feet to gallons. Unless I am missing something, shouldn't that number be 7.5, since there are 7.481 gallons per cubic foot?

Timber,
You did a great job documenting your swimming pool project. Wife took most of the pictures??? LOL ... And no pictures of her feet???:)
I have never seen a pool constructed like that so it is of great interest to me. It sure came out nice and what looks like in a hurry too. How long over all did it take those guys to get to this point? That track hoe sure made short work of digging that big ole hole!
Thanks for sharing all these great pics. I'm sure you and your family will have a blast in the new pool.

I'm just using the formula that I have seen used for all my career. That Is what all the chemical brochures say to use in figuring the gals in a pool. You are correct in the amount of gal per sq. ft. I assume the the 5.9 is to correst for any irregularity. I know that using that formula on my last pool, it corisponded with the increase in my county water bill over the normal bill. Later, Nat

5.9 probably compensates for the unfilled area between the top of the water & top of pool/deck ????? MikeD74T

Thank You Rob,
My wife is banned from the digital camera. I busted her down to 35mm disposables LOL. Most of those pictures are from Wal-Mart. I have them make a disc along with the prints. LOL I have enough pictures of her feet and the ground and other unrecognizable things.

They back filled the pool yesterday so my yard looks normal again. The dogs lost there playground but now there all over the pool. Today they are charging the pump and circulating everything and then they will close it for the winter. Saturday I will T post the pool off and run wire fence to keep the dogs out. My little female will run 1/2 way across the cover before she realizes she is sinking. Those dogs are a couple grand each. There just coming out of there puppy stage too. Puppies are cute for about 10 minutes. You get so tired of No, Get Down, Give Me That & Spit That Out.

I'll post pics this weekend of what they have done so far. That is a Steel pool Rob. I have no Idea how long they have been doing Pools that way. I'm sure Nat knows more than I do. That pool came from a company I share my building with. I believe they are the biggest suppliers in the country. (Imperial Pools) I think they are out of Ca. Nice having them next door, I picked there brains for a year LOL. It really was about 4 days work but it was over a 5 week period. They say the apron is going to take 2 days but that will not be till spring. The only thing left this year is the electrician to pull wires and tie it all in

The pool looks great ! I had 1 put in about 5 yrs ago (18 X36) .The contractor that I hired was great. He finished on time (about 60 days). I love it . It"s so easy to take care of . I have a polaris that does a great job of cleaning . The polaris has saved me more than once, It's been well worth the money spent I on it .
