I am finally the sole owner of my dads 630:). He kept it inside and it always ran great. After he passed it wasnt immediately passed on to any of the kids so it was not ran or maintained for about 15 years. It sat outside for at least a year in that time. Finally this last month we separated what was left and I got the 630. Now it needs alot of work but I am hoping to fully restore it. I always loved the sound of spring when dad would fire it up to plow the garden. I will try to post pictures if someone can help me figure out how (I am new to this forum). Can anyone give me any specs on it or point me to a good site? I dont see them as often as some of the other old John Deeres. Were they only produced for a short time or in low numbers? Thanks for any info - If you have a 630 Id like to hear from you.

I like the JD 630 and most of the old John Deeres. I have not kept current with most of the JD sites but the guys at www.ytmag.com should be able to help you out with specifics. I am sure you will have lots of fun fixing your dads old tractor up and taking it for a ride. Best of luck to you.

Thanks for the leads. Yes everything is intact just needs TLC. Since nobody really owned it for so long, nobody put any money into it. I found a little info last night. Looks like they were only made a couple of years and along with the other 30 series were the last two cylinder John Deeres.

They made 15,224 gasoline powered row-crop 630's. They are a good property to have. If you have the serial number I can get the shipping location and build date for you
