250PSI? In a Diesel? Only if the engine is on its last legs. Most diesel engines that I have worked on (old VW and Volvo engines) spec 300-550PSI with 400-450PSI being "good"

I concur, the engine compression readings are much higher for most diesel engines. It takes 250lbs to normally fire, and that will have a ton of blow-by.

Compression for that engine should be 450psi, lower limit is 325psi: Kubota Engine Specifications
