Does anyone here know where I could buy a spare injection pump for the TL100A New Holland? The dealer here, (I'm located in Iceland) is asking for $5000+ for the pump and I think it is just too steep. I need the p/n 2853672 for European model, I think.

From one frustrated in area E15 in Iceland.
(E15 is the acronym US Army gave the glacier Eyjafjallajökull in the tourist eruption few months ago because it begins with an E and has 15 additional letter which are impossible to pronounce, unless you are a Icelander)

Given the numbers off the old pump, a Bosch repair shop can build a new one. Not sure of the price to do it.

that part number is for the Europe fuel pump, its not available in the US. A reman US pump goes for about $3500 from NH

What is the problem with the pump? Bosch pumps are quite simple to replace seals and do simple overhauls on. The problem is bench testing (assuming you don't have a bench tester) after any major overhaul.

I mention the above, because I have known many Bosch injection pumps to be rejected because of leaks. They are easy to fix. Just in case it will be of any use, I would download the Bosch VE pump information.

Then, there is also a good site where a Volkswagen injection pump is overhauled, but the initial link is no longer available, so they embedded the entire process in the thread. Don't click the thread in the first posting, it doesn't work. Read the whole thread, well worth the time:

Diesel injection pump maintenance is not for everyone though. Your work place needs to be absolutely, spotlessly clean. Dusty environments are no good, it has to be clean (kitchen table?). First step is to plug all the ports and clean the pump so it looks new before anything is cracked. If you can complete the overhaul without getting your hands dirty, you have done well.

By the way, you need to stay calm working on pumps. Sometimes it is very frustrating to work within the confines of the pump without special tools. Stay cool, stay calm, you will get it - I have done a number of Bosch pumps successfully. It isn't rocket surgery. If it was built by man, it can be fixed by man.
