Yes you could. But removing the pump eliminates the lateral (now) parasitic load on the injection pump eccentric cam lobe (you wouldn't notice the difference though). Just another thing to worry about.Bob,

Yes. Although not mandatory, it just eliminates another wear point. Just out of curiosity I Googled the subject and found this video that might be helpful. He installed a much larger electric pump that needed a pressure regulator, you wouldn't need one because your pump pressure is pre set to 5-7 psi, and you have a built in pressure relief valve in the outlet banjo fitting. I should have made a video when I did mine.makes sense to take it off.
