Injury - Crushed finger in implement u-joint

Ouch! Hope you get it reassembled with no major issues.

I have hooked a boot heel on the tractor step and face planted too. A similar finger pincher is the flywheel on a chipper. I was gently turning the 200 lb. flywheel by hand checking the knives and had my finger where it could get pinched by the fan blade. 200 lbs doesn't stop near fast enough. :laughing: Nothing serious, but a painful reminder to pay attention.

A few years ago we had a broken bench vise that my brother welded for us, and it didn't want to slide back into the hole... so after some serious wiggling and pushing it went in at about 100 MPH.. Finger was in the wrong place at the wrong time and definitely saw starts.. Funny now- wasn't then :laughing:

Yep the shoe lace catching the gear shifter or one of the other 1000 catches on my old gear drive tractor and face planted after smashing the knee into the loader (happened 2 times so far in 38 years of tractoring.) 1st time a young kid hopping off an idling 8~9N yanking it into gear & luckily not getting run over & loader & wheel smashed into a BRAND NEW silo & one 2 years ago in a hurry to get something & laid on my back holding me knee for 20 min on wet dirt...

I have a good number of scars on fingers & thumbs from working battle scars over years too..

I got my finger caught in a belt sander. It got rolled between the belt and roller.

Lot of painful injuries here! i'm amazed at how many folks have pictures. I smashed my finger and broke it with slipped wrench last year and a picture was the furthest thing from my mind!

One tip I might add, if you are unfortunate enough to crush a digit, head to the clinic or emergency room as quickly as possible. A break is one thing, but the orthopedist was pretty concerned about me crushing that finger and not going in until the next afternoon.

They told me the risks were nerve damage, cutting off blood supply that would result in losing the finger, and potential infection making its way into bone. All of which could be dealt with right away.

Next time... I'll go in right away.

After scratching my cornea a coupe weeks ago,and looking at these photos.. It Reminds me of just how quickly we can injure ourselves..
