Inline Antifreeze Heater or Block Heater?

Thinking of installing either a block heater or an inline antifreeze heater on my TYM T503.

Anyone already do this? If so, which did you go with, and why? Can you also share where you purchased the item.

Block heaters replace a frost plug.
You simply pry out the plug and insert the heater.
Once U know the frost plug diameter most auto parts can supply the suitable heater
Actually the plug manufacturer will most probably list the correct plug as well as proper installation site.

By in-line do you mean in the lower hose to the radiator? In block is often considered better, but both can do the job.

Goeduck, yes I was referencing the heater that might be spliced into the lower radiator hose.

Bottomline, I was putting out "feelers" to see what others favor, and what was most user friendly regarding installation processes. I am favoring the block heater.

I've always gone with the lower radiator hose ( inline ) heater. Usually, the lower radiator hose heater is in a location that makes for easier instal. If it's an easier installation - it's also an easier repair regarding leaks.

I've had one block heater. It turned into a bloody nightmare. I'm sure this has shaded my opinion.

Either one works. It's just your preference. Most cars in Canada have block heaters installed before purchase.

Yes - my new "Taco Wagon" has an OEM block heater. I will probably never use it. It it's that cold - I'm in the house, hot coffee, shot of JD, read a book or NFL/NCAA.

I think around me, block heaters are most widely used.

Don't use a drill to get out frost plug. There was a thread here a couple years ago by someone who did. Summary: Don't do that.
