Massey Ferguson 4245
Hi there, Im trying to reseal the steering rack on a Massey 4245. Ive removed the rack, removed the RH inner ball joint with the outer attached to it. But struggling a bit with the LH side. The LH side seems to have a roll pin going through the joint and I cant see how to remove it. It feels like there might also be perhaps a grub screw in the base of the hole but I can't find an allen key that fits, so not sure if there is a screw. Any advice would be appreciated.

It turns out that the roll pin has nothing to do with retaining the joint. I'd posted this on a couple of forums and didn't get any replies and after messing about with it for several hours I thought Id see if I could shear off the roll pin and the joint just unscrewed as the threads on the joint are male and screw into the chrome rod. Originally I thought that joint screwed on to the chrome rod. Anyway, I don't know what roll pin is for, so if someone does it would be interesting to know.

I admit I was curious about the roll pin. Having been into that of type joint a few times on other makes of tractors, they all seem to simply unscrew (once you get them to break loose that is) and none I've seen ever had any such "tricks" involved.
