Kubota L3130HST w/LA723 loader
I like the combination of the LA723/L3130 a lot but I find that I over control at times causing violent movements. Plus an extended period of use causes my right shoulder to hurt. That long joy stick handle and your arm extended from the shoulder are poor ergonomics.

What does the fender mount joy stick kit cost? Are there any reasons not to install one on a non cab tractor? Has anyone made this installation?

A lot of questions but my search did not turn up any posts about an actual installation - perhaps I did not ask the right question.

I have the same combo and thought about doing it when I bought mine this spring. I really liked the close proximity of the controller on other competing tractors. The fender mount is the same one that is used on the cab models. I think the price was in the $400 - $500 neighborhood. When I saw that, the standard position mount started looking pretty good to me. No reason not to get it if you don't mind parting with the dough.

The L2223A 4-position joystick control valve for fender mount/cab models retails for just under $1000 on new tractors. The difference between the fender mount and loader mount joysticks on new tractors is about $300. It is not clear whether the L2223A can be an option for non-cab tractors. Installation of course is extra.

I have a L3830 with the 723 loader. When I purchased I mentioned that I also owned a JD4110. The dealer suggested the option installing cab joystick so that I would have the joystick in a similiar location on both machines.
I do not recall the price exactly but $300 sounds about right for the difference. I have been happy with the location, for me it just seems to be closer to where my hand/ arm rest in a comfortable position.
If you find the stock position uncomfortable, I see no reason not go for it ( money aside).

Normally you can just move the factory joystick for the price of new lengths of hydraulic hose and/or cables and a couple holes in the deck. If you are not able or interested in this type of job, many good local mechanics love to figure out this type of stuff. The longer handle does make small movements easier. If you can mount the valve close to the floor next to the seat, shortening the handle may not be necessary.

The fender mounted joystick on the Kubota uses the existing loader valve mounted on the loader frame. A set of cables run from the fender mount joystick to the loader valve.

This is what I expected but a question remains: do you turn the loader valve 180* and connect the cables from the bottom or do you loop the cables up and over to hook to the valve spools with the valve in the normal position.

With the fender mount, would you then be able to then exit the tractor on the right side? A consideration to think about.

I suppose you could but I have not looked the see if the mounting points for a step are there. Some of Kubota's advertising photos show a slim female operator exiting on the right side from a cab tractor but you know how much truth there is in advertising.

What about cabs, one door or two? Anybody know?
