1948 farmall cub
Hello! I own a Farmall Cub 1948 with C60 engine. I was thinking about buying a magnetic block heater, and someone suggested an external tank heater instead. Are these difficult to install? Are they superior to the magnetic heaters, and worth installing? Thank you for posting your results!

We had an external tank Kats 1500 eater on the plow truck in a severe cold climate and it worked wonderful. I would highly suggest that. The magnetic heater was a waste of time for us.

A tank heater will heat far better than a magnetic block heater. The best solution is a frost plug heater. They warm the engine from the inside out and you do not lose heat through the hoses.
Magnetic is the worst of the three. I personally do not care for Kats heaters. My preferred brand is Zerostart, the company I work for had terrible failure rates with the Kats.
