The best money I spent this year was $70 for a pair of insulated bibs. Never had a pair before even though I worked outside. Very comfortable, especially when kneeling in deep snow to change shear pins and such. Easy to get in to and out of too.

I agree. I bought a pair about five years ago and wouldn't be without them now, you can stay outside longer and get so much done while staying comfortable.

I have a pair of Carhartt insulated bibs that I wouldn't be without too. I like those worn with a good jacket and layers to suit better than wearing insulated full coveralls.

And you can wear them when you ride your motorcycle when the weather hits 50 like yesterday...:cool2:

I have used bibs for years. Great for almost any outdoor activity in the cold. I prefer them over a full jump suit type since you can wear a jacket, or not. Nice to be able to "dress down", when you get warm.

Back in 2010 I had casts on both legs up to my knees and couldn't put on long pants. It was around October and I was fixing to be starting physical therapy and we just happened to be in Tractor Supply. I saw they had some Carhartt insulated overalls and I thought they'd be easy to get in and out of with the zippered legs.
Every time I was rolled in for physical therapy and started pulling those off in the waiting room folks would stare until they saw I had shorts on. I'm sure there were a few breaths of relief.
Back then we lived in an apartment and they didn't get much use until we moved to our house last year. Those couple of polar vortexes definitely made me glad I had them in the closet at that point.

I agree with everything said. I actually have a regular pair of insulated carharts and an arctic pair. Its amazing at the difference between them. usually a pair of under armour leggins jeans and the bibs is all thats needed for our pa winters. Just adjust the outer layer according to your exposure. Good boots with those bibs make a world of differene as well.

I never cared what brand they were, as long as the leg zipper went all the way up to the waist. That made it easier to get on and off with out removing my boots.

Yeah Big, I have a lot of Carhartt stuff but these bibs are Schmidt from Tractor Supply. I shopped Carhartt on line and they had too many size and material choices so didn't want to get into a misfit/return situation. So in Tractor Supply one day I tried them on and was a great fit so bought them.

And, the zippers make it easy to get in and out with boots on.

Our local Reny's (Maine stores) is a good place to look for Carhartt. I'm not selling Carhartt , I like some of their stuff but not all of it.

Now is a good time of year to buy winter clothes. I bought a nice Schmidt hooded sweatshirt at TSC last week for $9.99 plus got 10% off with mailer coupon.
