BTDT, if you happen to see it again at home depot, could you take an additional pic of the channels, and the piece on the wheel side that it slides on ?

They lock and pin to hold them up. I happened to be at an antique tractor show with a guy who has the 10K tandem axle version. One great thing about them is that it is perfect safe to load and unload the trailer without it being hooked up to a vehicle. He'd bought his used from a rental place and it came with surge brakes. He was talking of converting it to normal electric brakes, because he hauls varying loads in it, and wanted the sensitivity and adjustability of electric brakes...
This guy has a couple of Struck-type mini-dozers and had real hassles trying to haul them on regular trailers...
