I recently rebuilt the carb on my international 140 and it ran good the I installed a ignition tune up kit and now I have no spark I don't know if I could have fried the could or I did somthing wrong with setting the points inside the distributer if any one has any info on this it would help me a great deal

I set the points on my IHs .015 to .018. And make sure the rotor is all the way down. That got me a few times.

When I set the points the does the distributer shaft need to be turned so that is on one of the corners of the square shaft is holding the points open before I set the points

Mine have hex shaped distributer shafts, but yes the points must contact a corner point. The easiest way is to "bump" the key. You may have to slightly adjust the point specs if your dis shaft corners are worn.

The condensor should be okay unless you accidentally grounded it with the ignition switch still on when you were bumping it to set the points. It sounds more like an improper gap setting or a loose connection when you put the new parts in.

Yeah after I rebuilt the carb and got it back together I started it and it ran then I had the ignition problem u hit the nail on the head I fried the condenser then once I got that fixed and took it out for a spin the engine was pulsing agin and gas was poring out of the carb I adjusted the governor and it seems to be running good now good tractors but can through you for a loop sometimes thank everyone for your help

Sorry my luck ran out I was out mowing and it was running good after I adjusted the gov then it started pulsing agin anyone have any ideas of what I should do to fix this or what exactly it could be

Check your float adjustment in the carb. If it was pouring gas earlier, that sounds like the float was set to high. I don't believe the governer adjustment had anything to do with it flooding gas through the carb.

The gas stoped pouring from the carb but I just can't get it to stop pulsing when it is under load it gets so bad when mowing up hill that it almost stalls until I push the clutch in then it will smooth back out for a bit then it does it agin when I take off do u think it is the carb or governor
