International 784

Hello TBN'ers. Looking for some advice on an International 784. Has about 3800 hrs, 2250 loader and a bale spear. Located at a local dealer that I have purchased from before. They are asking 11000. Primary use would be feeding round bales to the cattle. I have been using a 3pt bale spear on the back of a 1960 Ford 861, but the front wheels not being on the ground much makes for an interesting ride to the feeder. I know I could add some weights, but my neck ain't what it used to be and I'd really appreciate being able to feed from the front.

So, is this a fair price? Obviously this is not a good time to be buying with the used tractor market like it is.

Also, anyone have any experience with this, or similar model? I've never owned an International, and I certainly don't want to start an "International Incident" by getting the red vs green mob stirred up!! Any thoughts on reliability, parts availability, etc?

Finally, is that loader/tractor combo strong enough to stack 4x5 bales 2 high?

If it is in really good shape then that would be a fair price. It definitely could handle the round bales.

Parts are out there but I do not know how easy they are to find.

Solid model, parts can still be had. No reason it won't handle 4x5's two high.

Decent tractors, I have a 574 very similar.
You will need ballast for stacking or traveling very fast.
My biggest complaint is sitting so low in them and straddling the transmission,
makes it harder to get on and off as you age, and will generate some serious heat in the summer.

Thanks for the advice. Dealer is delivering it tomorrow and taking the 861 with him. I think this tractor will definitely be an upgrade a do all I need it to do. Thanks TBN.
