Hello, Can anyone recommend a cleaning method for my 1964 International 504 breather filter , OEM 367677R1 / R19? Operator's manual says to replace it at overhaul. Last time I replaced it was 2008. Found used ones for $60 up to $177 for new on line which is very expensive.

Ran the part number and pictures of it look similar to the one's on the A.B, C models. Personally, I have filled that type with gas and let them set for a while to break down oil & dirt collected, dump, refill again and let set again for a while. 3rd time fill maybe half full and shake it, dump and see if it is still dirty. Just keep flushing until it's clean. Then blow air in holes with a low psi air gun to get most remaining gas out, then let it set for a while to air dry out, holes up.

Usually do the same with the older oil bath canisters with the mesh filter. Just gotta' be careful where you do it using gasoline. May be a Redneck way to do it, but it works.

pressure washer with detergent in it to start then clean water then air. NOT a good way but will get most of the crud out.
I have used gas in a blowgun tank I have and it works BUT you still cant get everything out.
