I have one out back that grandfather bought in the late sixties. He worked for Gore truk lines in Greenwich CT. THey were selling out and he couldnt buy the truck as the union rep said he was a Diesel mechanic. He bought a truck at the scrap yard as a hull and then bought a new in crate Perkins straight six. He then bought a 38 foot open top trailer and cut it down to make an 18 foot box bed. He my uncle and mom all road down here to MS in the cab of that thing. Grandad used to call the old truck Maude. He left it in the feild at a friends place for many years s tarting it once a year. He gave it to me around 90 and we had it hauled home. We used to start it and drive it but the brakes are gone. THe cab is beyond repair. I have a 1600 cab and chassi Im tinking about settin the motor and trans in or doing a cab swap.
