Im a Business Tech, I strictly do CPE. I came from the Sprint/Embarq side. Legacy Nortel, Avaya, Shoretel and Hosted VOIP. I have recently however been doing Fiber to the prem installs because those guys are so busy. The residential stuff is new for me but it is a nice change.

Yeah I used to install a lot of Nortel key and large PBX systems and until a couple of years ago I engineered Avaya among other brands systems.

I'm still running the 1995 Nortel System here at Hospital... have to say it has been relatively trouble free.

You can zoom in and check your area. What it actually means who knows? And they have six years to implement.

If you think you have been getting some conflicting information from Comcast you should look at this blog I found yesterday. It’s Comcastic, or: I Accidentally Bought a House Without Cable | An Open Book

It could have been my story except I'm 1300' and the quote a few years ago was $13,000.

I was there for 3 weeks with 4 Comcast visits and then more telephone calls asking if I was happy with the install and why I cancelled the install...

Three weeks was just not enough time to get anything done...

The big sticking point is the county now requires underground where all my neighbors have poles...

I spoke to the original owner and learned Comcast offered to hook up the area for a flat $400 rate and most jumped on it... the spouse of the person I spoke with said her husband said the last thing the children need is to be inside watching cable TV...

Again... with a wink... the Comcast Engineer said if a 2" vacant conduit just happened to be found... it would change everything... I then said I will need to trace the spare conduit that was installed back when the house was built... we both smiled and left it at that...
