I paid $100 a year. And I assume you know that's to insure the tractor; not liability insurance.

I bet that is a dealer add-on for preparing the credit application. If so that seem like a bit much /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif--Ken Sweet

I charge my customers a $125 flat rate fee to cover all the small charges within the credit app through AgriCredit. Also, the insurance is a great thing to get as usually the total $ spent on insurance through the life of the loan with AgriCredit is about as much as one year would cost with your home owners ins.

Make sure you ask questions about manufacturer provided insurance. Most of the time that only covers the balance of the money owed to the manufacturer and not replacement of the actual machine.

I agree with Ken that they where making $$ off those fee's. I have heard of others doing that as well. From what I am told PA assesses some of the highest financing fee's around and even after doc prep fee's we end up charging under $150.

Just to finish up this thread - I ended up using my homeowners ins to save the $165. Paid the $ 40 & 100 fees.
Dealer said they both went to agricredit, not him.

I can't win though. While talking to my homeowners ins lady, just talking and being nice, I mentioned I rented out 65 acres to a farmer who plants corn, etc. She called back later and said I needed additional liability ins not included in my homeowners to cover possible problems with farmer. She will call me back later to let me know how much that will cost.

Good thing I didnt slip and mention I have those 3 mean geese. They probably would drop me.
I got ripped off on those too. The guy I bought them from told me the big one was the goose that layed the golden egg. Larry

It was, but it had already layed it at his house.

I determined after similar problems that I need to ask the question, "Exactly how much will my final check be after every thing is added in?" Somehow, there's usually a surprise, especially at a car dealer or a house closing.
