- Massey Ferguson 1643
Hello, my name is Brad and I'm the proud owner of new power shuttle 1643 Masey Ferguson Cab tractor. I never owned a tractor before so I guess I jumped in with both feet. It's amazing what 0% interest for 60 months will do to a guys sense of reason.
It came with a front end loader and I added a backhoe with a mechanical thumb. Also got woods grader and a Massey snow plow. I have 40 acres in Colorado at 9700 ft. Elevation.
Plowing was going well until threw a chain off. I looked through the cab glass ( which has great visibility) and I noticed the chain was missing on the right side. Then I noticed the hydraulic hoses were in disarray . I immediately got out and checked the hoses, pitched one but it wasn't leaking hydraulic fluid. I think when the chain came off it snagged the vertical support and rotated it 180 down from the original vertical position. I must of spun the front right tire because inside connecting link on the chain was bent from a 180 deg bend to a 90 deg bend releasing the chain. At home I heated the link with a torch and restored the 180 deg bend. I wire tied the hydraulic hoses and pulled them as far away from the front wheel as possible and retighten the bolt on the now vertical hose support. The 2nd day plowing had no issues.
Absolute love the tractor cab, as they sing at Christmas let it snow, let it snow, let it snow. I plan to use the tractor to grade the 1/3 mile driveway, drag and remove tree stumps, lift and hold trees for cutting with the chain saw. The tractor will also help with new house and garage building.
Thanks Brad
