An hour ago I noticed a fly had found it's way inside here. No big deal, I thought. Then I realized there were two. Odd enough, but tolerable. Then I see a third and decide it's time to get up and eliminate them.

I've killed at least six now and swear I have that many more. I checked doors and windows and everything appears to be tight. I have no idea where they're coming in but this is ridiculous.

You haven't used mouse poison in the house, have you? If something dies in the walls of your house, you get flies. If you get lots of them, it usually means they are attracted to something, or the larve were already planted on something that came in on your work boots. /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

Somehow 6 doesn't sound like a lot of flies to me though.

Cliff,

You've solved the mystery. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif Thank you. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Beyond that, it appeared to be a single sortie as now I've eliminated well over a dozen and there seem to be no more now.

For some reason, I gotta know /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif, was it a dead mosue or something on your boots?

As of right now, I neither know nor care. /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

In the immortal words of Vivien Leigh as Scarlett O'Hara in 'Gone With The Wind', "I won't think about that now. I'll think about that tomorrow." /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

I'm with you, Cliff. I had visions of cluster flies when I read the subject line...hundreds! A trick I read in Mother Earth News was to peel an orange and leave the peelings in the windowsills overnight. Not sure how it works, but overnight it killed every fly in the house! Doesn't work on skeeters, though. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif
