Yes, Himalayan blackberries are a hobby of mine..... I can keep them beat back with repeat mowing and cutting. Good and bad, the berries are fairly prolific and taste good.
... and the cane toad that was supposed to kill them, now we have all three.
The list goes on and on just as I am sure it does in the US and all/most introduced by well intentioned forebears.
I never heard of them until now. And I thought our Japanese Knotweed, Multi-flower Rose, and Autumn Olive were really bad!A Himalayan Blackberry infestation is a real pain. They can grow nearly 2 stories high and the canes can spread 30 feet in a year.
The same goes for what ever the utility companies use to kill ALL the vegetation (grass, brush, and trees) growing under their power transmission lines.I don't think that anything short whatver it is that the phone company sprays around their poles will get rid of it.

Then again, I think most people would be horrified if they knew the concoction and concentration of the chemical mix that is used.
