Just finished last night, putting the sprinkler heads on the irrigation system we installed. I must say MUCH to my delight, that the entire system so far has worked flawlessly. Even though I had the day from hell when I had to replace approximately 20 feet of 1/2 copper with 3/4 to finish the run, tying system into house. That "simple" proceedure took me approximately 6 hours by the time it was said & done.

Last night just prior to gluing the heads on, I looked in the 3/4 pvc that was sticking out of the ground and was surprised to see it full of water.

I have installed a drain at the low point in the system and would have thought that over the prior couple of days since I test fired & cleaned the pipes out with pressurized water that it would drain away. Are these drains (screw in type, same brand as the rest of the system) slooooooooooooow to drain such that it could take days/weeks to drain? Or do I have a draining problem?

As the system is burried now but easily dug up where my drain is, inquiring minds want to know!
