My First Choice box blade (60") is extremely durable and well made. It weighs about 440 lbs if I remember correctly. I can't imagine that someone makes one better.

Looked at your link and the price and quality of the Box Scraper look excellent

I have never heard anything negative about the Midwest products here at TBN...........

My question to ya is what would it cost to ship 450 lbs of steel to MD or PA?????

I have a First Choice 60" also and am very please with it. There was a dealer in southern Indiana selling them last fall for either $285 or $265 (I don't remember which price now). Either price is one heck of a good buy IMHO.

I posted a number of pictures of mine including close-up shots of seams and welds, etc., when I got it. Just click here to see the thread.

The bottom line is I am very happy with mine and would highly recommend one. good luck with whatever you decide. I hope this helps. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

They look like a heck of a good scraper . Just wish I could find a dealer within driving distance....The shipping cost is going to put me close to the $ 500 Woods price

Maybe I'll call Midwest direct and see if they have a dealer in western Pa or central Md
I had no luck trying to find a first choice dealer in either of these areas

We normally ship 400-450 lbs to a business location in that area for around $80 with free lift gate--Ken Sweet

Bartman,

I think Midwest is supplying implements to Kioti dealers...there is one off I70 East of Washington, PA...I think. Have not been there yet.

Maybe you could buy a Midwest product under the Kioti lable at a Kioti dealer like that. Could even be one closer to you.

I am pretty sure I got the story right on the Midwest/Kioti connection. And since Midwest made the First Choice Box scraper, you would be getting the same quality product that Gary in Indiana did...

Sorry, been away from the computer for a couple of hours.

To be honest, I'm not sure if I needed the hinged rear gate or not. I just figured it was easier to "lock it down" if I didn't need it, then to figure out how to make a rigid gate swing if I bought a fixed gate and needed it to swing.

I really don't have much experience with it yet. I'll probably put it to some use this spring and summer.

The HB series is a bit heavier than the GB series, so that's another reason I could justify it.

And I'll admit, I'm sure I paid a bit of a premium for the "Woods" name. However, that's what my (local) dealer sells and I like to support him whenever possible. He always includes delivery.

By the time I priced in other units with delivery charges, I was within about $100-$150 or so of the Woods price. I felt it was worth that to support my dealer. Plus, he had just recently given me a pretty good deal on a Woods SS60 snowblower.

And I don't wish to take anything away from the dealers that respond on this forum. They've been very helpful and I wouldn't hesistate to purchase from them either, if my local dealer couldn't help me out.

My reasoning, probably not yours, but it works for me.

Good Luck,

~Rick

I went to the Kioti site and did a search for dealers and turned that one up. They have a find nearest dealer function there. I did not call them yet. I will have to take a look at the Kioti site againto get the pnone number before I call them.

Using map quest, I saw they were east of Washington, PA, and a little south of I70...but not very far south. I figured I would visit both that dealer and Tractor Supply, which is just across the border west of washington PA...

If brain fade does not set in, I will see if I can find that dealer's info and send you a private message, Bartman...

Ummmm...what did I just say?...you know how that goes... /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif
