Is $500 a good price for a Box Scraper

Hi again,

Note: I think the URL confuses the system here so I will past the whole thing also:

[incase the clickable link above does not work]

[Note to anybody that cares...I did not make this second link clickable, just pasted the url in there and it became clickable on its own...and doesn't work either so I suggest anyone who wants dealer info just go to www.kiotitractor.com and take it from there...

I'm going nuts! I did not underline that
Just in case anyone is interested...enter your zip code and the distance you are willing to travel...and get a list of dealers.

I have a Kubota so there is no self interest here in promoting Kioti.

But if they are selling Midwest stuff at a fair price...why not spread the word?

PS...I guess that [1] in the url is the problem with the clickable link...don't know the way around that... /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

HI,

I was having some trouble getting a link to work in that previous post. Several unexpected things were happening and I was /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif to say the least... /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

As the result, I am sure after two edits it started to sound like nonsense /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

Now that I am reading it the next morning, I see that even John's attempt at editing it did not help...so my advice is to just ignore that post! [I can't edit it anymore] /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

If anyone needs a kioti dealer location, just go to their site and click on dealers...You will easily find the info you need.

The deal with Kioti is brand new, so I would doubt you'll see them being sold through Kioti immediately. First Choice is another option, as Midwest made their box blades up until very recently. Also, I have found the shipping at Sweet Tractors, Carver (will not come assembled) and Carter Machinery to be very reasonable. I'm going to take a trip down to Carter to pick up implements later this week. Four hours each way, but I'm not only saving $ on the purchases, I'm getting the quality/value I want and could not find locally.

Plus you're developing a relationship with a good dealer. For guys who like to play with tractors, you can't have enough friends in the tractor business. Sometimes it takes several heads to get the best answer. Come to think of it, that's why we all congregate here -isn't it?

The only problem with shipping is(I think) that you or someone has to be there. Which is a major problem for me. I take that when you go to pick up equipment 4 hours away that it's down south............. I was hoping it would be near Charlottsville cause I go there about once a month.......... Imagine a 5' box scraper being loaded into a Caravan

Thanks fellows for all the input , I am going to try Kioti and see what happens, I actually have a buddy that works at a Kioti place in Frederick Md

Thanks again,
Bartman

You can rent a pull behind trailer locally for about $20. With a Caravan and only a boxblade, you should be able to pull it fine. There is a first choice dealer in Charlottesville--Beverage Tractor (they're on the net). Prices won't be as good as Carter and they only carry First Choice, but it is a lot closer to you. They quoted me about $500 for the 20 series blade (3/8" end plates and about 520 lbs.).

Bartman,

What you can do on the shipping is just have the shipper call you when it arrives at their local (to you) terminal. That's what I did with mine. Since the terminal was just down the road from my property I towed my trailer over there and they even loaded it for me. I just strapped it down and took it away.

Once at my property I unstrapped it and offloaded it with my tractor's backhoe, drove into the barn and set it down. I just love using that backhoe as a loading boom. /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Lastly, I should mention in reference to the previous post that my box blade is a 15 series, not a 20 series. I can't envision needing anything any heavier duty than what I have. I know I wouldn't spend an extra $200+ for something heavier. Honestly, I'd be very suprised if this one doesn't outlast me by decades. /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

Gary, I thought you got a 20. It has bolt on replaceable cutting edges, right? The 15 has weld on cutting edges. The 30 is the heavy duty.
