Hey Fellas

Now I am really getting confused.........

I was going to pull the pin and spend the $500 on the Woods just cause it was within 20 miles of my place in MD

Then I stumbled upon a dealer 20 miles north of my place in MD and they have a 5' UNITED box scraper for $250 (and it weighs about 370 lbs) and a Leinbach 7' rake for $350

Grand total of $600 for two impliments

They also have Leinbach PHD for $310 (already have one of those)
Wasn't life simpler when ya just had a 20" push mower

Last summer I FINALLY made up my mind to order a Woods Box Blade.

Told the dealer to get it...then he could't right away because they had to make it! And I needed it sooner.

So I ended up with a $299 5' King Kutter box. Works surprisingly well. I know I don't know what I'm missing...but I really don't have any regrets over spending half of what the Woods would have cost... /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif Seems to work well for me.

Depends on where you are in the US. I would say that's reasonable for a Woods but shop around. I found a heavy duty Pyramid new for $300 and it does a fantastic job (6' with 6 scarifiers). I have to grade a 2000' drive and do it quite regularly. The recent potholes remind me it'ys time again!

Bartman,

I looked at a United box blade before I got my FC box blade and the one they had for sale had nuts/bolts and not pins for the scarifiers. This is a major problem as I adjust the heighth of the scarifiers all the time. The United one I looked at actually cost more than my FC box (I have the -20 series with replaceable edges). The Untied one also was really rusty as it had obviously sat outside for a very long time - my guess is because of the pins versus nuts and bolt.

I am about 98% sure the United Ilooked at had pins and not nuts /bolts....
It sort of looked like the King Kutter designed Box scraper

Any how thanks for all the advice and patience

I will let you know what I do
