Think this would be a fun second car, not to mention the savings that one might realize in gasoline alone. Smart

I had an 84' Honda CRX that got 63 highway / 57 city and it was about twice the size of that little pip-squeak.

Entertaining car that is being marketed as a fuel conscious vehicle :)

In the UK, the forfour model is offered with motors from 64hp gas to 96hp diesel to 177hp gas  That little thing must "fly" with 177 hp motor, I'd hate to see the crash

P.S. Gatorboy- that CRX got great fuel mileage but it's emissions will kill ya. I had an 88 CRX HF that got 58 MPG at 120mph. The fuel tank could outlast my wife's bladder everytime. NH to Orlando, FL $33.00 including tolls :)

The Smart appears to be a fun car to drive. Hopefully the lighting isn't by Lucas and don't get into a bad accident. You'll be a sardine in it. Can you imagine getting rear ended and then pushed into another vehicle? Can you say SQUISHED

How about this for a 50-60 mpg commuter? Little bit more manuverable than the Smart car, more fun, and probably just as safe in a crash...

It's amazing the number for small cars in Europe and other areas. Wish I would have taken some pictures, some "interesting" (read that ugly) little cars over in Isreal when I was there... Also almost necessary when streets are 10-12 feet wide and 2 way traffic...

I guess it'll be interesting to see how well such a small car sells in this country. How many remember the Isetta? Or how about the Chevrolet Sprint Turbo? I drove a new Sprint non-turbo automatic transmission; so sluggish you wondered whether it would go uphill. But I also drove a Turbo model, manual transmission, and it would really scat, but I wondered if it would self destruct in the near future.
