All depends on what you are cutting. For a few times a year around a pasture, get the 8'.

Won't be able to cut any faster IF HP is the limiting factor. But with 45hp and a 6' cutter, the limiting factor is going to be either gear selection, or terrain. IE, rough field and keeping butt in seat.

A 6' cutter at 8 mph and a 8' cutter at 6mph will cut the same acres per hour. But one will be a lot smoother ride.

Go as big as you can, and enjoy the nice smooth ride.

Heck if you don't have to transport and are looking at a semi-mount or pull type, I'd consider a 10 or 12'
