( LMTC I thought that $1500.00 for this new 7 foot International rotary cutter was a good price, but one post didn't think so. Also, this dealer has a used 7 foot rotary cutter that is just like this new 7 foot that looks real nice that I can get for $1000.00. A farmer traded this in to the dealer for a 10 foot drag type rotary cutter. )
If you check out the used one, and find the blades in good shape, no wobble, no bends and not too many dings, look at the oil and make sure it's not milky looking and everything else looks good, save yourself $500 and get the used.
The Internationals are well made, economy brand mowers that should do well for general purpose. If you're going to be using it for a business, I'd go Woods. John

BobG in VA thanks for your input about this 7 foot heavy duty International rotary cutter.

What is the smallest PTO horsepower tractor that can be used with this 7 foot heavy duty International rotary cutter.

KiotiJohn thanks for telling me what to look for on this used 7 foot International rotary cutter.

By the way John, will a Kioti DK65/C tractor handle this 7 foot International rotary cutter. I am thinking about buying one of these tractors for my farm. This tractor is the cheapest brand of a 55 PTO tractor that I can buy here in Kentucky.

Yes, the 6' and 7' rotary cutters are both recommended for the DK65. You know that model is available without a cab as well?
Just ask RedDog, he's married to his DK65! John

KiotiJohn

I have looked at both of these DK65 Kioti tractors with, and without cab. These are one of the sharpest new tractors that I have looked at. They have so many things on them that are standard, that other brands of tractors don't have. They are also cheaper than the other brand tractors.

Thanks for your post KiotiJohn

If you were talking about me, that's not what I meant. I was only trying to point out that the price difference between a one wheeled IM602 and the two wheeled IM702 is disproportionate. The 602 cuts a 72" swath for $859 (retail), the 702 cuts 84" for $1500 (apparently discounted).

The point being, that a 1 foot narrower swath might be a good trade-off for the $641 saved. But if money is no object, you can also get that 702 with rear hydraulics.

I hadn't actually caught that either in the beginning, but now that I get it, I, myself, would buy the 6' and use the saved $$ for a post hole digger, a landscape rake, a boxblade or whatever!! John

Your PM reply suggested receipt of only one PM from me, I sent three. I also included my email address, in case you want to pursue the "cheaper than a Kioti" alternatives.

I was just looking over the accumulation of comments when I thought of one thing I'dlike to add. I use Woods BB840's and BB8400's for commercial bush hogging (Approx. 2200 hours a year on 2 tractors) They are the smoothest operating mowers I have ever tried. I have to believe that smooth operation results in less driveline vibration/shock back through the tractor. (Not to mention the operators comfort) As is the case with MOST high speed PTO driven equipment, there is a huge difference between cheap and expensive. (But not ALWAYS the case) Just "thinking out loud". John

Sorry if I missed anyones private messages that I did not reply back to. I like getting private messages from all of you on this board about tractors and the rotary cutters. You know I am a new pup on this board, and still trying to find my way around on this board.
