Is BX23 enough tractor for my needs?

RobertM.....

I have driven, and have mowed now with my BX23. There is no way, the B7500 would be as good of a mower compared to the BX series. I am now firmly convinced of that after owning both. The finish mow of the BX is exceptional...better than my dedicated zero turn mower. I have bar tires on mine and I did sink some this past weekend BUT I was mowing the day after a 6 inch rain in flooding conditions. With turfs, my lawn would be perfect...or close to it. I think the only time I will miss the B7500, will be transporting the brush-hog mower...otherwise the BX will do the same tasks in a similar manner. For the price of another set of tires, I may get some for the heck of it.

Get the BX as it will do what you want and with the hydro's transmission compared to the gear drive it is like having extra horsepower while doing loader work.

I don't see why there would be much difference, unless you went from a rear to a mid mower. Weight is about the same, turning radius is a bit better, but not dramatically. With bigger tires you should actually get less of an imprint on turf with the 7500. What do you chalk the difference up to?

The BX, even though about the same weight, feels lighter on it's feet. The suspended mower, and being closer to the graound I think are reasons for the difference. The lower center of gravity I think helps to lessen the foces on each wheel as you corner with the machine.

Looking at my lawn striping attachment post, I'd question that! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif I think if I chain up my MMM on my B7500 so that it is a "suspended type" mower, I'll bet it is just as good, if not better than a BX. Reason? My wheelbase is longer, tires are substantially bigger, and it will cause the unit as a whole to bounce less than the BX. I will be putting chains on the 3pt to allow the deck to only lower so far within the next few days. I'll post my results.

The bigger wheels are a disadvantage. I have used both tractors.

Can you tell me how they are a disadvantage? I find a much nicer ride with a larger tire than a smaller tire. What am I missing?

Ride wise the two don't seem much difference. But the BX tires will be easier on the lawn.

( Willin' to bet the B7500 or B7510 can turn pretty durn near the radii of a BX. I think my B7500 can trim around a 60" diameter weed bed, or so with no problem. Frame size being the same, that should include a 7610 and a 2410 I'd think. )

Boomer Super-Steer

I'd guess that is an 18 to 20 inch radius. Look at those front wheels; they're almost perpendicular to the rear wheels. This is no subCUT. It's close to a full sized UT.
