As somebody who doesn't know a thing about the L series, I just opened the Kubota web site and compared the old and new.
Lets face it. The whole front end of the old model looked like a loaf of bread. Now it looks like an angry loaf of bread.
They both look...um...distinct.
My wife actually felt strongly about my getting the BX2230 instead of the BX2350 because "it looks more like a tractor, not a tractor trying to be a race car". Really, looks is the only thing she cares to functionally evaluate between the two and I chose the 2230 for my own reasons.
I tend to agree with Mr. Podunkadunk...when it came out, I'm sure the L30 got its share of stares. I think the L40 looks good. Lighter, somehow. And definitely like somebody peed in its transmission. Very upset.
