is it possible to convert noncab tractor to cab'd tractor?

Hey everyone,

I have a kubota 5040 tractor that I absolutely love but I am having a fairly hard time using it this time of year due to allergies with ragweed. I am taking prescriptions but I'm still having trouble. I was wondering if it is possible or even cost effective to have cab/air installed on a non cab/air tractor? I imagine I'ld be better off trading it in but that's not really an option because I don't want to take a severe hit on trading it in. thanks.

Im not sure if curtis makes a cab that large, perhaps lauren does?

The chances you can have a cab installed are very good. It may require some modifications of both cab and tractor but should be possible.

Have you tried wearing a breathing mask during ragweed season?

I don't know anything about cabs, but the 5040 can be purchased with a cab (unlike my L series 4400). Can you not purchase the cab from Kubota or do they only install them as a factory option?

There is a good chance you can get an aftermarket cab. The a.c. could be more difficult as an add on. Many add on cabs are for winter use.

When I brush hog Russian Yellow Star Thistle (highly toxic), I use one of those more expensive respirator masks. A cheap dust mask isn't enough.

You will not like the cost of adding a cab plus all the other parts you will need to make it a useful tractor… Like someone on this forum has always said ‘a cab without air conditioning is a greenhouse.’
If you ever use a good cab tractor it will be very difficult to enjoy the greater outdoor elements again… You will be better off $$$ taking a big loss on your nearly new 5040 on a trade, than building it into a cab tractor by the part… KennyV.

Laurin Cabs in Canada makes cabs for just about everything and AC systems for them too. Lots of people up here buy them.
