I am wondering now at the 200 hr service, as I did at the 50hr, is it possible I have a 3200 badged as 3800??

The first oil change I posted about 7 qts. overfilling the crankcase. I had to drain some out so I didn't know exactly how much would fill it. Well, I did the 200 hr service and checked, 6qts and about a half pint topped it off including the filter. 6 filled the case to the top and after I ran it and checked for leaks, about 1/2 pint topped it up. And yes I drained both sides. That's about what my manual calls for in the 3200.

The transmission was close to what the book said.

Not really complaining just wondering.

Does your tractor have 2 drain plugs like some of the others? Just thinking perhaps if you didn't know this you could be leaving some oil in the sump.

Just about any time I changed a fluid in a Kubota tractor it took less than the manual called for. When I asked the dealer about it he said that is what most people experience.Just look at the engine model number to see what size engine you have.I assume an L3800 would have a bigger displacement engine than an L3200.

I think the oil doesn't ever all come out. There is always some up in the oil passages and galleys. I think the specs are for an engine that is brand new assembled and does not have any oil in it, other than maybe parts assembly oil. I could be wrong, but you would not be the first guy that said it doesn't take as much as the book says.

Anything is possible, of course, but the odds are astronomically against it. There should be an engine serial number tag on the valve cover. An L3800 should have a "D1803" type engine in it, with 1826cc displacement. The L3200 engine would be a "D1503" with 1499cc.

Thanks Guys, I did drain both sides of the pan. I checked the engine model number, thanks Grandad4, it's 1803.
kOua, I let it drain for a really long time and there wasn't even a drip left. Over a quart off the book capacity seems a bit much to me.
Maybe there is a low spot that can't drain, like the rear axle, that should have its own plug.
It'll save me money over the next 20 years anyway!
