Ahhh, It took a lot longer than I suspected when I initiated this thread but I think I hit a cord with COOBIE:ashamed:

Coobie I am not looking to start anything here just asking a question. I absolutely don't believe I used the word "nagging". I was actually hoping to hear more from people like yourself who own Kioti's and have had great experiences with them, and the folks on this site came through. I was just looking for a little nudge back to center.

I am all set with JD.

I have a JD,kioti and Kubota equipment.ALL have there problems some more some less.Get your wallet out for green products.Make sure you get a fair comparsion between tractors when you get ready to purchase.I did my homework before I purchased my 2008 Kioti Dk 40se.Glad I did.I saved about $7,000 grand verses Kubota and JD with less lifting capablities on the front loader & 3 point.coobie

I'm one owner who has had trouble with the ignition switch even though my tractor has never seen the rain. And I'm not one to wash my tractor very often either, maybe once in 6 years. Kept it tarped and with the ignition switch cover on the first year. Cover broke off in short order. It's now kept under a huge leanto and never sees any precipitation.

Still think it's corrosion related though. Haven't had any trouble since using fluid film.

Do you think that the tarp might have caused something of a "greenhouse" effect so there was very high humidity???

"From what I have read there seems to be alot of Kioti owners on here that are expericencing problems with their tractors. "

Hi Dingo,

I'm glad to see a man conducting due diligence before selection of something like a new tractor purchase. I came around here over four years ago for the same reasons you did. I wanted to test the owners just to try and decipher how happy they were with their Kioti's. Just like you, I trusted the owners forum for Kioti and other models I was interested in. Despite our similar aims, somehow I managed a conclusion completely opposite of yours.

I seemed to come away with the idea that It was the Kioti tractor owners who were actually the most satisfied not the opposite as you have concluded. That was 900 tractor hours ago and four years of real seat time aboard an overworked CK-20 with a backhoe that has never met a tree stump it could not remove. To this day I still believe that despite a few flaws Kioti has been a fine piece of tractor machinery and the overwhelming numbers of positive anecdotal stories are positive for Kioti and a couple of other brands as well.

By the way, just like your system of basing a tractor purchase in such a way I think that your system and mine wins the prize as the least scientific assessment on record.

The best of luck to you and may the best tractor win.

Climate change deniers are responsible for ignition switch failures!:confused2::laughing:

Dingo. I've had my DK45 for 3 years now and have 400+ hours on it. The only problem I had (besides self inflicted) is I developed a very small leak in one of the hard hydro lines. It was an obvious defect and an easy fix even for a non-mechanical type like me. I will say this tractor has done everything I've asked it to do. I previously owned a 3510 Mahindra and these 45 horses and lift capacities seem to be twice the tractor.

It is not that the ignition switches turn to rust the minute they get wet. Many people, the vast majority, have had no problem regardless of how they store the tractors. It is just a simple thing to prevent which is why I would take the time to bungee a small piece of tarp over the switch if I left it outside for a while. I also imagine that Kioti will or has already upgraded the switch as they don't want to replace them under warranty either. Really not a big deal but it does show you how reliable the rest of the tractor is when this is the type of thing that gets peoples attention.

My 2011 DS45 has a plastic cap attached to the ignition switch . Pull out the key and cap the switch.
