Why did the town try to make it difficult for this dairy to sell raw milk?
Was the town really concerned about the health risks of raw milk or did they create these specific rules to drive the dairy out of business?
The farm has been in existence of hundreds of years and the 25 remaining acres has to be very valuable. Certainly, the town would get far more tax revenue if the farm grew some houses instead of making milk. Would a government official create regulations that would close a business? Nah, that would not happen....

Spot on! You can also get the elected official that just thinks they are right and everyone should just do as they say. Our local government is dominated by the "Republican" party. They are pretty good, but I've been noticing more and more that the officials feel they are all powerful. Recently the proposed something that EVERYONE that came to the meeting was against. After letting the public speak they just dismissed us and not knowing what they were talking about and passed it. Luckily it was just passed to be on the ballet, and was crushed! Term limits really are important in governement.
