Have b2910. Doing 600 hr service. Radiator flush is called for. Did not do it at 300 hours. Tractor has always been parked in the garage. Have heard stories of radiator flushes doing more harm than good. Should i do the flush? It seem pretty harsh when I read the directions on the flush solution. What's your experience.

For your B2910,if the coolant is reasonably clean just drain as much as possible and replace with new regular green antifreeze mixed 50/50 with distilled water or the commonly found pre-mixed green coolant with de-ionized water. One would not expect flushing would be needed on a well maintained cooling system.Good Luck!

I agee w/the no-flush necessary on a well maintained engine. To me the key is too keep tap water out of the system and unless you're going to flush w/distilled water, you're going to end up putting all kinds of deposits into the cooling system that "may" not have ever been present (as long as you don't add tap water to the system).
My coolant was green & still tested good when I changed it so all I did was drain and refill w/a 50/50 premix designed for "all" vehicles/engines.
Since these little Kubota diesels aren't wet sleaved, make sure that the 50/50 premix matches or exceeds the recommendation in your owners manual and you should be GTG.

changing the fluid is good as it does build up particulate matter and quality degrades with time. there's more to coolant than cooling and not freezing. fresh fluid keeps the seals healthy like water pump seals. like they said, not a big deal on a well maintained engine but i'd also be considering age and how long you want to keep it. if you can do it yourself i'd recommend it, but it's not a huge deal either.

the stories of flushes doing more harm than good is anecdotal. emptying coolant and putting in new shouldn't makes no difference on an otherwise good engine. often folks wait until there's hints and then jump the gun to change the fluids that have never been changed.

I have a B2710, both operator's manual and shop manual say to flush every 2 years. And both manuals also list B2910 as having the same interval. Where are you reading that the interval is 600 hours?
