Snowblower Is something wrong with my snowblower?

In wet snow blower chute clogs up to the point were it is unusable. I have about 35 residential driveways to clear and using FEL is a pain. Looking at other even smaller tractor/blower that were able to blow the snow, not very far, but not clog up. Chute too tall?, square shape a problem?, "hole" too small? Any suggestions, modifications ... that migh help. Pic show blower chute.

I found that if you want optimum operation from a PTO attachment run it at PTO speed.

Thanks for reply, i did read that thread before. I am not looking for any spray, i did try wd40, did not work and i did not like the idea for environmental reasons. Tried cooking spray also did not work. This clogging only happens in very wet almost slush conditions. I'm more wondering if it is a design flaw that might be modified...

Are you running at full PTO rpms?

I think if the snow is wet like slush you'll have more of a problem to deal with than the dry stuff. I have been using a blower for years and it's no different that your scenario.

If the snow is wet/heavy, the height of your chute will be an issue. There's alot of area there for it to bind before it clears the top.
If they offer an option to replace with a shorter chute, I would do it.

Most blowers now would not have that 'stove pipe' tube in there - the round part. That does look a little tall. It also appears to squeeze in just a bit to the top???? That would cause the plug, unless it's just an optical dilusion.

I see they wrap the turn cable around there, but if that 6"+ section were only a 1" swivel collar that would help I believe. The rest of the tube is square & open, so should not be a problem. Perhaps it slows the snow some, and that backfeeds into the round part..... But I look at the round tube as the bottleneck.

Wet slush is a difficult thing to blow, it is a problem for many.

I'll vouch for not using blower with any kind of wet snow. It's just one of those things I don't do to keep my sanity. We got all rain from this last storm and I'm glad we did as I'd prefer that anyday over wet heavy snow.

I agree with........Wet snow is very hard to blow. I've had much more success dropping the rear snowblower and using a rear blade.......plus the enjoyable benefit of plowing snow going forward.

Those JRW blowers have extra long chutes. It looks like my Puma has a chute that is about 1/2 the length of yours. That could well be your problem since mine works fine in heavy wet snow, even when mixed with some dirt. /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif
