It's been a while since i last visisted this site. Just an update that it seems the problem may be solved. I cut down the opening about 2 inches lower(see pic). I then lined the inside of the round part with crazy carpet, held in place with rivets. Thats part was the problem area where it always plugged in wet snow. i noticed it was a bit rough with weld splatter and bare metal, maybe that was the problem? I ran it at PTO 540 speed instead of about 200rpm under that i was running before.Last storm was pretty wet, not the worst i've seen but would have been a problem previously. Worked great, without clogging at all and throwing snow farther than usual.(for heavy snow) It did clog once after i backed up in in snow forgetting to engage PTO(30+ hours without sleep)LOL, clearing the clog was easy since snow slide right off that Crazy Carpet. I'll probably do the rest of chute the same way as it helps throw snow farther and easier, and is under $5 upgrade. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Isn't crazy carpet just plain plastic sheets?
Here's a few pics of mods to blower. By the way crazy carpet is a thin plastic sheet that are used for playing/sliding on snow. Snow season is over now, but for next year i'll put some on the whole inside of chute. The sheets are held in place with rivets, this may be obvious but make sure that it will still rotate after putting in.

I know this trend is old, but folks will still read it.
For what it is worth, I have done the 'crazy carpet' mod as well a couple of years back and I can echo the comments.
In fact were I a blower manufacturer I would make all my shoots either in moulded plastic or at the very least offer a liner option.
On the other hand a liner made fron HD poly (about 1/8" thick) would last a long time and will not cost a fortune.
Another thing, that poly sheet can actually be bent on a folding brake to fit the square shoots very well.
HD poly commercial sheets are quite reasonablely priced.
Generally sold in 4' x 8' sheets (would guess $50/st, (been a few yrs since I bought some)).
Sheets can also be heat moulded for curved areas.
(Pissa oven would be ideal.. When heated to a floppy state, quickly clamp to the cold metal shoot and it will keep that form)
I once made an aircraft windshield that way, using the old w/s as the mould.(used wood for clamping and cotton
gloves so as to not leave finger prints)
Do it! It is well worth the effort!
