Flail Mower Is the 59" Caroni too big for my 22HP SCUT?

If your conditions are going to be more like finish mowing, then you could get by with the 59" mower. But your tractor wont like it the least bit in anything dense or thick. Since you are going to get a flail to replace a bushhog, I'd stick with the smaller one. Flails are HP hogs..

I will ask you this are your rear tires loaded with ballast? if not you will need to have front weights unless
you own a front end loader for your Massey.

Unfortunately the TM line requires a bigger rig (30+HP). I think the TL1500PSC is my best choice.

When the description refers to adjustable hitch, I wonder if that means offset -- which would be nice for orchard and vineyard. But alas, that also is only for the TM line.

Will talk with sales rep, but any advice on any other makers of flails for SCUTs for rough cut, sometimes thick grass and brush, with offset?

The adjustable hitch means that you can manually adjust the offset position left ot right to a certain extent.

I personally can vouch for loading the rear tires if you are using an integrally mounted flail mower or a towed motorised flailmower as I have used them both with loaded tires and they work wonders.

A flail mower is belt driven in most cases which uses a speed increasing design via the belt drive.

A flail mower will take a bit of getting used to as far as any mowing job is concerned and if you want a higher speed of travel you will want a smaller width of cut and overlap the cut and YOU must raise the cutting height.
