Hello everyone. New to the forum. Ive been around large farm tractors all of my life. But I dont know a whole lot about subcompact or compact tractors at all. I have 16 acres at my residence of mostly woods and five acres of yard that is mowed with my ZG 20, a rental property with 4 acres, a small family cemetary, and my mothers place of about a acre. I have been cleaning up my place where I live with a 580 sk backhoe. So the tractor will just be used mostly for bushhogging, moving dirt around, disking/tilling/planting food plots and the small maintence jobs of just having property. The ZG will take care of the mowing. Also will the BX 25 dump high enough for the bumper pull dump trailers for loading them. I have access to a 14' with 3' sides that is a low pro trailer. Any thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated. Also already have a tandem axle 12' trailer to haul it on. Thanks, Lutt.

It sounds like just what you need. The 3 ft trailer sides are no problem to the loader. Just don't expect anything close to the CK580's lifting power! :)

Should have no problem reaching over the sides of the dump trailer. I've used my 2350 to load a one ton dump truck. As for the hoe, the bota will out dig that case any day!!!! Jk

Yeah, that old backhoe is stout. Also ease of hauling was something else I was looking at. Thanks Lutt

Thats good to know, I am sure a one ton dump truck sides are quite a bit taller that a 3' dump trailer. Thanks Lutt.

...I have 16 acres at my residence of mostly woods...

One thing to understand is the ground clearance on the BX series. Some folks have found it to be a bit too low for effective operation in the woods.

I have had a BX2200 for almost 11 years and use it on my 5 acres. The Woods bh makes my rig equivalent to a BX25 in overall capacity.

In my own opinion, you can do everything you desire with a BX25, but you will spend an incredible amount of time doing it. If you are retired and love seat time, this tractor is right for you. If you have a job and want to take care of all these chores yourself, you definitely need at least a B, or better yet an L series to do all that and still have time for a life.

I currently have a BX25, have had other BX's, B's and an L. Joining Tom on this one. Bushhogging and disking are not commonly done with a BX. The BX25 will be up to the other jobs with time but those two aren't where it shines.
