Is the Cyber Truck a Flop?

/ Is the Cyber Truck a Flop? #931
Those who are ignorant of the tech in the Tesla cars will never understand how superior the car is to almost any other car on the road. That the CT can deliver a drive better than my Y just demonstrates the superior engineering involved.
But we're not talking about a car in this thread. We're talking about a truck. I don't care about self-driving for a truck. I don't care about a big screen TV for a dash in a truck. All the tech in the world won't change the fact that it won't fulfill the basic criteria many of us have when selecting a truck. A car is a different thing.

And you keep calling people who don't want a Cybertruck ignorant. Many of us are not anti-EV and have ridden in or driven Teslas and other EVs. We're not ignorant. We just know what we need a truck to do.

I doubt that most people commenting on this thread have driven a Tesla. Much less own one.
The fact that threads like this exist and people are polarized by the CT shows that the Cybertruck is a huge success.
So far there have been two false statements made about Teslas:
1) The tow hitch will fall off while driving a CT
2) Electric door handles will fail for whatever reason and you can't get in to rescue your dog or child.

I addressed #1 already but for #2
For most models, you can open the frunk or rear trunk by finding and pulling the emergency release on the side of the front bumper area.
In the antiquated ICE vehicles if you need to get in your locked car in an emergency (without a key or key FOB) you will most likely be busting the glass.

A thread where nearly every comment is someone listing reasons why they wouldn't own one is evidence of huge success? You have a different definition of success than I do.

The thread exists because they aren't selling anywhere near as many as Elon predicted. Your definition of a "huge success" confuses me. If a product is polarizing, it's a huge success? So that was Elon's goal, to create a polarizing product?

Keep talking about it. Only builds more interest in the Tesla brand.

Hell, I'm getting to the point of buying one and posting a picture of it with me.
Then when someone posts it's fugly I'm going to ask that poster to show a picture of his wife so we can critique.

Wonder why there isn't a thread called "Is the Rivian a flop?"
Probably because Tesla is the face of EV's and will be around longer than Rivan (or Lucid)

I hope these guys make a dent. Maybe make a difference. The design is brilliant. If the battery trays are replaceable, we have something. If only a company would say, they were attempting that, and make the new rules for plug and play. Here is your super battery, that fits your car. Just like AAs. And can be substituted in minutes, and these are mostly charged by solar power. This would be the next Tesla.

I don't know, I created this one. I didn't create a Rivian flop thread. Ocean was a flop for sure. Did Rivian predict they would sell over 200K of a particular model per year?

I get it, you have a Tesla and love it. We have a Ford and love it and I also own Ford stock, but I'm a realist. If Ford came out with something similar to the Cyber Truck and they didn't sell, I would say that particular model was a flop. I'm not married to Ford.
