Is the dealer the only source for fuel and oil filters?

I buy all my lubricants and filters from NAPA for my BX. I get their fleet discount as my military discount which runs from 30 -50% off list. Actually NAPA's retail over the counter prices are not much less than tractor dealers. So far I have cross referenced many filters to NAPA's WIX made brand except for the air filter for my Husqvarna mower. They use a different air cleaner than the Kawasaki engine normally has; strange.

Industrial: There are many generic fuel filters of all types from in-line to spin off. I bet you could adapt a much cheaper option to your Kawasaki.

I think it's probably safe to say JD doesn't make their own oil or filters. WIX has always been at the top of my list for filters. Seems the new tractors have break in oil though so I think that might force you to the dealer. Always fun to look at all the goodies at the dealer anyway. Found all the filters on the WIX site by the way

Sad part is I've seen prices really vary among deere dealerships on those maintenance items especially on the lubricants, motor oil and greases in particular. The closest one to me now I wont even patronize. Can always check out online dealers for pricing too

Can't go wrong with WIX, unless their recent sale by Dana results in another corporate takeover move to China (haven't heard anything like that as of yet).

I run WIX in all my equipment. They were highly rated on Bob is the Oil Guy's website, among others. Very high quality materials, good filtration, and most importantly, excellent oil flow rate over the life of the filter. Anybody can filter finely - but these typically plug quickly, going into full bypass mode & negating the entire point of having a filter in the first place. Filter design is a balance of required attributes.

I tried Baldwin engine filters for a while on my Deere(s) But the Deere dealer sells Deere filters for less than the Aftermarket.
