So is there another slow down of mail on top of many others over the years? Yes I read headlines but one day a slow down will be equal to shut down.

For years I have been asking for odd day delivery of rural routes so they can cut staff and vehicle expense by nearly half. Now they are out every
Sunday morning delivering for Amazon in KY.

Why does anyone have to mail in votes? Here you can just drop off the ballot at the township office. It's the same distance away as the post office and you save the cost of the stamps. I don't see the impact on the post office (or impact of the post office). Are we different than other places?

Seems about the same to me, but all shippers have slowed a bit due to volume. One thing I noticed is a several day delay from when a seller claims 都hipped to when they actually get it in the hands of a shipper. I have 3 shipments from Thursday and Friday, and all three said shipped but only printed a label so far. The shippers (USPS, UPS, and FedEx in this case) will all get the packages on Monday. That痴 when I think the seller should consider it shipped. At this point it is only 菟ackaged?

I've a separate thread months(?) ago ranting about them printing the label the moment the item is ordered, calling it shipped and packages taking a LONG time to actually get out their door. That's something different. Some places charge my card when they print the label. I had one site this spring email me the item had shipped and then when I checked on it it was on backorder and eventually took two months.
But I used to routinely get coast to me USPS deliveries in 3 or 4 days, not two plus weeks.
And I'm not ranting about politics.

That one is rather frustrating. I ordered a book last month, it shipped on Sunday July 12.. yet the post office never received it until 8 days later. It literally took the vendor longer to get it to the post office after saying they has shipped, than it took me to read it. I can't help wondering if Amazon puts pressure on them for quick turn-arounds, resulting in bogus shipping dates.

Yes. I have noticed less ''junk mail'' lately

The option to drop off mail in ballots is new for us this year. I anticipate all areas will adapt and the mail slow down issue will be a non issue. Those that can't drop off should just mail earlier.

The mail service (or lack there of) has been going down hill for years. Packages lost, delivered to the wrong address, management that couldn't care less, etc,.

It seems like every year, they are asking for increased funding. I'm tired of funding sorry services with my tax dollars.
Make the post office a private entity, and it will turn a profit, packages will be delivered on time, and to the correct address,(much of the time) etc.

That doesn't Jive with what both local postal workers told me or this

Zero tax dollars used. The Postal Service receives NO tax dollars for operating expenses and relies on the sale of postage, products and services to fund its operations.

It doesn't help their balance sheet that they are required to fund employee benefits 75 YEARS in advance...

i can't think of a for profit corporation that funds its employees benefits that many years ahead .

And the money put in this fund apparently is being used instead to pay down the national debt. Not fund retirees.

Passing this bill would stop the 75 year mandate and re routing of those funds.
