I had a friend who liked to claim that seat belts were unsafe. His rationale was this: He said; "I'm driving down the highway and, as I reached over to hook up my seat belt, the car veared off the road, hit a telephone pole, and I spilled my beer. There is no way I will wear seat belts." I liked the story. I wear seat belts.

Equipment safety protection removal is vital to society. This thins out the weak and dull witted from the gene pool.

Variations in country standards is sometimes surprising. Japanese dealer had 5 new machines in stock when engine certification rules forced him to export them. He had installed a custom air conditioner in the machines and removed the A/Cs from the machines before they left for Australia. Australian dealer noticed 5 small holes drilled in a structural cab post to which the Japanese dealer had clamped A/C hoses. Australian dealer wanted new cabs - ROPS had been modified. Japanese dealer called me. I contacted our ROPS supplier. Supplier said they could not be certified unless one of the modified cabs was sent for retesting. End result was the Japanese dealer had to pay for new cabs. I was able to give him special pricing - our cab cost plus shipping. The surprising thing is mountainous Japan is not concerned about ROPS. Flat Australia demands ROPS follow the ISO standard.

Paul deleted the part in the video where he shows how to cut the ROPS. he explains it in the second to latest video.

He said it was because of this one guy on the forms, Said the guy was a cyber bully with mental problems and, someone asked why are you giving in to him.
"Well there are bullies in every walk of life and the one I'm dealing with I feel is mentally ill so I'm being cautious here" in the comments.

Oh well. At least the guy who ever he is had his wits about him long enough to see the danger of a video cutting the Rops. for all to copy. The guy who ever he is may have saved him from a lawsuit down the road especially when he becomes more famous with his videos.

As Paul said before. Quote on video "I know this is going to offend some people, but its too bad if it offends you, but if it saves somebody else from injury well, I'm all right with that".

Only when Paul said that, he was talking about "looking at" a factory Toyota inclinometer. Can't use the inclinometer, but it's ok to show people "how to" decertify, cut and weld the factory certified Rops on one of the most popular tractors out there today. At least in my opinion he did the right thing in the end. By deleting the Cutting of the Rops section in the video.
Now you guys can all fight over which one of you he is talking about.

Don't get me wrong, Paul, 4shorts does very nice work, best welding I have ever seen. This is not about the quality of his work, in this case, in my opinion, it was his judgment. He now has done the right thing in removing the part of the video.
Morally, ethically, and business wise. IMO

Well, Lotta discussion, but no conclusion. I guess we shouid ask somone who's life has been saved by a ROPS. I had a near miss with a TBH trying to cross a ditch. The tractor began to tip and I grabbed the stab leg hydraulic and it stopped the rollover, but scared the goose grease outa me. Now I always use a ROPS. In fact I just put one on my old Kubota..It is not certified, but it is very strong.

I do think that ROPS are necessary. I cannot hold up a tractor if it is on top of me. My five cents worth.

Personally, I would have liked the video to remain.

I believe that it is extremely unwise to remove ROPS or operate with the ROPS down. Shortening the ROPS so that you can get in/out of your storage without dropping the ROPS greatly increases the likelihood that it will be up when something bad happens. So if the choice is to remove your ROPS or fold them "unless you need them," or to modify them so that they're always there, I would rather see somebody modify them.

That said, the only censorship that happened was the author censoring himself...
