Is there a break in period on the 4225H?

Well, I'm just guessing by past experience.

I had this 2.5 liter Mitsubishi Pajero truck that cracked the head (common failure on these) and would just smoke exactly like your tractor for maybe 30 seconds max and then it would clear out. As far as the smell, I can't really remember.

It's hard to diagnose anyway. Again could be a really crappy fuel. Let's just wait on what the dealer have to say about this.

So what did your fuel/water separator look like? Could all be fuel related, but that would be some really garbage fuel. Maybe ask the dealer where they pulled that fuel from. Can you pull out a sample of the fuel in the tank before the dealer picks it up?

Taking 3 tries to start on glow plugs and running rough at low throttle aren't normal either. Again, could all be fuel related. Or you could have an engine problem. I doubt the last part, but it's possible.

Certainly not normal, and not DPF related. And impossible to have a plugged DPF in 3 hours, don't care how you're running it.

So I’m no very familiar with this type of fuel/water separator and the manual does not do a good job explaining how to check it. I know there is a white disc in the bowl. It appears to be floating all the way to the top of the bowl.

Won’t be able to get a sample before going to work early tomorrow morning, unless you think it’s REALLY important. If it is bad fuel, do I need to be concerned about damage to fuel pump or injectors?

This is what mine looks like:

I'm using red dye fuel, so may look different color than yours.

If you open yours, does it smell and feel like diesel fuel, or water?

Latest update!!! Dealer came and picked up the tractor a week ago today. They told me a few days later that it was not smoking for them, but that something didn’t seem right with the glow plugs, so they replaced them. Said they would have tractor back to me in a few days. Few days went buy and I called yesterday to see when they would be bringing it back. Claimed they would try on Wednesday. I offered to come pick it up on Tuesday and it turned into that they were waiting on a part for the loader because something got broke and the loader was not working! SMDH! While I had dealer on the phone I questioned again about the smoke and asked if he had seen the video I sent. Said yes and still claimed it was linked to glow plugs and that I needed to run it harder to keep it cleaned out. Granted I had only ran it for 2 hours when they came to pick it up!

Today I get a text from the dealer asking if I still had the video of the tractor smoking and if I could send that to them so they could send it to Branson. Hmmmmm!!!

I’m a little unsure of what to think now and quite frankly am a little nervous. Any thoughts?

The smoke looked a bit too white to be from bad glow plugs. My truck has only 1 glow plug out of 4 working and in cold weather when it's a bit more difficult to start it will throw grey smoke, not white. It almost looks like steam to be honest.

White smoke is either water in the diesel or a bad head gasket or the head itself. But let's just wait and see what dealer have to say.

Hmmm, I hate to think the worst, but I would insist on seeing it in person, startup and run from cold overnight soak, without smoking, before I would agree to them bringing it back.
