Is there a compact Dozer out there?

I am starting to build a pond. Trees are cut, bought a grapple for the Tractor, and have been reading Eddie Walkers epic, lake Maribou. I now realize that a small (10,000lbs) or less dozer would be a big help. I need recommendations. I have a Ford 1 ton, with the V10 to haul it with. All comments welcome

I got the chance to operate a Komatsu D21 (9,000lb / 40hp) dozer and it was a perfect size for small jobs but still had great power and traction for the grading we were doing. Here some used models on Machinery Trader. I don't know if CAT makes a comparable model, even the D3 is a 16,000lb / 63hp dozer.

Depending on what you want to spend, you can get several, Nortrack makes a small one, a friend has one and loves it. I think it's about 25 hp and it will move a lot of dirt. New they are around 16K,

I bought an old Oliver OC3 with a dozer blace attached for 1900 and used it for what I needed before selling it.

Those are some less expensive alterternatives to the Komatsu and the Cat.

I think a tracked skidloader is what you need.

That dozer posted is quite a bit LARGER than the one J.J. has here in Jax. In fact if you remove the seat, it would sit real pretty on that platform. Cute little thing, no doubt.

naw, not a struck, it is a trackmaster, mine at one point even had a backhoe attachement...after finding original owner...some of the newer magnatracs are closer in size..weight on this is prob around a ton or more with all the counterweights. engine is a 12.5 hp single cylinder wisconsin...it is a monster single cylinder

I would go with the skid steer and a set of tracks made from pawn shop chain. Buy a dirt pan to pull with your tractor. Take a rear tractor blade and adapt it to fit the front of the skid steer. Do your digging with the pan and use the skid steer to keep things dressed and make things easier for the tractor. A skid steer is good for many things and a dozer is only good for pushing or pulling.
