Just came across this thread. What they are probably talking about is the use of LNG for over-the-road trucks. This is another thing that T Boone Pickens has been pushing. An infrastructure of fueling stations along the Interstate Highway system would have to be developed. The engines use a little diesel to get going and now and again for lubrication but diesel consumption is cut about 95%. The cryo tanks for LNG only require an extra 70% of fuel storage space on the trucks verus CNG which requires something like 600% more space.
