I used the inline connectors with the metal plate you squeeze when you put the 2 wires in there. I forget what you call them . The new wire goes against the plastic butt end and the other wire goes in the groove parallel to it and you squeeze the metal tab that makes a connection between the 2 wires. Hope this helps.

Man I love this site. I have seen that plug several times...never knew it was just a dead plug with hot and ground. Awesome, now I know where to hook up my ROPS lights (when I get some). I thought it was a diagnostic connection cannon plug or something like that.

COOL!!!

I have a hot and ground somewhat like that on my New Holland. I have to be careful though as when I added ROPS lights that when I start with the glow plugs I can't have the lights on or I will trip the main fuse. You may want to check that out. You end up tripping when you least expect it.
